The Story of Our Dogs
This is Carly! She was our first dog, and she is the best. She is the one who tricked us into thinking all dogs are wonderful and easy and effortless. She never does anything bad, ever.
Then we got this ham named Bodie. He weighs about 90 lbs, and 89 lbs. of that is heart. That doesn’t leave much room for his brain. He is a talented cuddler and a gentle kisser, but you can find firewood with a higher IQ than Bodie.
Carly wasn’t sure about Bodie at first…
But they soon became best friends furever!
They wear each other out playing…
And then they take naps, as long as Carly gets to be the big spoon. Everything was pretty much perfect! Until…
Chloe came along. Yes, she looks adorable, but she is an absolute nightmare of a dog.
She quickly established dominance…
And she doesn’t always play nice, so we got her this duck muzzle.
We want to get pigs next.
But wait! This family wasn’t done growing! This happy guy named Bunny suddenly showed up!
Of course, he wasn’t immediately accepted into the family. Bodie was pretty suspicious of this newcomer.
After all, Bodie is used to being king of the hill.
And he had to make sure Bunny knew who was in charge.
Chloe wasn’t very happy about it either…
This all made Bunny weally , weally sad.
Chloe wouldn’t let Bunny play with her sock.
And Carly was a little annoyed as well.
Poor Bunny felt like an outcast. He had no one to sit with at lunch.
But then Carly was the first to accept Bunny, and started playing with him!
Then Bodie decided that Bunny was okay after all…
And eventually, even Chloe began loving her new little brother.
Now, they all help Mommy practice yoga!
And now we’re the happiest family ever!!
But wait! Then we decided to do a kitten yoga class, and this little guy stole our hearts.
Callie fell in love immediately, and started feeding him.
He, uh, grew up really fast.
And Bunny wasn’t crazy about him at first, but eventually accepted him into the family.
Chloe was especially happy about having someone her own size to play with!
Then one day we were walking all four of our dogs…
When we came upon two cats, one with what might have been a broken leg. Callie was immediately smitten and took them both in. It turned out to be more of a slightly sprained ankle.
Lucky for us, Simon took to his new friends immediately!
We named this one Brie.
And this one is Max.
The dogs were so confused at first, and were constantly subject to sneak attacks.
Now that the house is overrun with cats, the dogs only rule the outside, and that’s a-okay with them.
And at the end of each day, everyone goes to sleep happy.
