What is the Tuck Compact?
If you plan on returning to indoor classes at Tuck at any point in time, please review and sign the Tuck Compact below.
I’ve never tried yoga. Can I come to any class?
All of our classes are open level (unless marked otherwise on the schedule), and beginners are welcome! However, you may feel more comfortable starting with our Gentle Vinyasa Flow and Yoga Basics classes. Those classes will help you build a solid foundation that you can take into our other classes.
Is the studio open all of the time? When should I arrive?
The studio opens 15 minutes before each class. We wish we could be open all of the time, but that would be expensive! Please try to arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts. We lock the studio during class, so the door locks when class begins. We know that life gets in the way, and some days, it can be hard to get to class on time. We have to lock the door though because it can be very distracting to other clients when someone comes in late.
Do class cards expire?
No! Well, technically they expire 3 years from the date of purchase because mindbody won’t allow us to extend it any longer, but 3 years is a long time. We want you to use what you pay for and come when you can.
Do I need to wear barre socks to barre classes?
Due to COVID, we are strongly encouraging barre socks at this time.
I’m pregnant. Can I still practice yoga or take barre classes?
We encourage you to talk to your doctor before starting any exercise program. After getting the OK from your doctor, feel free to try any class and let the instructor know beforehand that you are pregnant. The instructor will let you know what modifications will work for you or what poses/exercises to avoid. We also have information sheets at the front desk that describe general pregnancy modifications for both yoga and barre classes. Please ask the front desk for a copy.
Do I need to bring a mat? Or other props?
We provide free mats and props for you. If you feel more comfortable bringing your own mat or props, go for it!
I’ve tried yoga before and I hated it. Should I try it again?
100% yes! The first time Callie tried yoga she HATED it, but she gave yoga a second try and loved her second class. Your experience is very dependent on your teacher! You might vibe with one teacher and not like the next, and that is OK. That’s why we recommend trying our new student special so you can check out all of our teachers and find your favorites.
Do I need to sign up in advance?
Yes, due to our limited class sizes we are requiring clients to sign up in advance for right now!
Does tuck have cancellation fees? Ugh, I hate cancellation fees.
Given COVID and social distancing requirements, we have to pause our liberal class cancellation policy. We know, we hate it too. For the time being, we will charge you a “late cancellation” fee ($15 for monthly members, or one class off of your class card) if you cancel within 12 hours of a class or no show.
Do I have to wear certain clothes to yoga or barre?
Absolutely not. Wear what you are comfortable in. There’s no uniform here!
Is there parking?
You can almost always find free street parking around the Point Breeze location. The West Philly studio is attached to an underground paid parking lot. There are also metered spots nearby!
I want to buy a membership for multiple studios. Is that possible?
You can take classes at multiple studios if you purchase the “yoga and barre unlimited” option for all studios. We also offer a membership to take classes at both Point Breeze and Wash West.
