Alex has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. In 2014 she completed her first training in Costa Rica, and soon after earned her 85-hour prenatal yoga certification with Senior ISHTA teacher April Puciata. Always the student, she completed her advanced 300-hour teacher training in 2019 at Washington, D.C. studio Tranquil Space and is now a 500-hour certified yoga instructor. Alex views yoga as an opportunity to relax, breathe, and get in touch with the body and soul. Alex’s yoga classes incorporate breathwork (pranayama) and meditation techniques that provide an opportunity for grounding and self-reflection. Alex believes that yoga isn’t for the flexible, but for the willing, and that it doesn’t have to look a certain way! Expect to leave class feeling refreshed and ready to conquer whatever the day may bring.
When Alex moved to Philly in 2019, a friend recommended teaching at Tuck. Alex fell in love with the welcoming and warm community, and started taking as many barre and yoga classes as she could! After 3 months of teaching yoga with Tuck she signed up for barre teacher training! Her classes have killer beats, encouraging cues, goofy dance moves, and will leave you feeling strong and accomplished! When she isn’t teaching, Alex works as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and enjoys exploring Philly with her partner Adam and pup Maddie.
